There are several ways to approach today’s challenge of architecture. Let’s talk about photo realism. Often when taking a photo we try to capture our subject as true to life as possible. The downside with this is we tend to lose the emotional impact of our shot. When you first step up to the building you intend to shoot take a second and look at it. What would you like the person viewing your photo to know about this building.
The overall goal with todays activity to take your time with an object that (hopefully) doesn’t move.
This shot really captures the location of our buildings. We should be able to determine a lot of information about this building things like, how tall is it, what time of year it is, where it’s located, maybe even what type of people live there.
This building we get almost done of the same information as our first image. However this image emotional expresses a lot. While the people faces to add a lot to this image what else can we take away?
This image also expresses a lot, while staying rather minimalist. Just because this photo takes place inside of a building doesn’t mean it’s not architecture. What does the repetition of pattern make you feel? Does this setting seem familiar to you?
